From a post to Facebook:
As promotional pages become more and more businesslike, I’d like to let you guys know what’s been going on in a human & personal way… Better late than never, I guess! So, this year has been odd. As most of you who are friends know, we moved from Tulsa, OK, to Atlanta, GA, in May. We haven’t been able to really hit the ground running yet because of some obstacles and life stuff.
Now that we are more settled & established here, I’ve been able to see my dad who has Alzheimer’s a lot more often and get good quality time with him. Also was fortunate to say goodbye to a dying friend in a good and meaningful way. These circumstances and events are really driving me to create and work harder at photography than I have been over the past few years. Life is short, but days are long, so I am going to try as much as I can to fill it up with art and learning.
Lastly, I’m working a lot on my contact printing skills. Learning how to make cyanotypes because it is the most accessible alternative photography process at this point and am excited to show some prints in the coming weeks. I’m not a great technology person (or polished or good at marketing or…) and I don’t really care to be, but I’d like to connect more to friends & fans of the page, of which there are a respectable 209. :) Thanks for liking my silly page and expect updates more often.
Here’s a [crappy] cell phone shot of my latest cyanotype before dry down. Trying to nail down the exposure and then will experiment with tea toning.
